OPEN HEARTS, OPEN MINDS, OPEN DOORS
YOU ARE WELCOME HERE
We believe that Jesus' message of unconditional love means that every human being is a child of God and is worthy of love, respect, and inclusion. As a Reconciling Congregation of the UMC, we welcome and embrace people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, race, ethnicity, age, faith history, economic status, physical and mental ability, education and housing status.
We stand against discrimination and exclusion by choosing to worship and serve with all people through love, acceptance and reconciliation.
2025 Advent
Advent has arrived! During Advent, we prepare ourselves to celebrate the birth of Jesus the Christ child.
This year’s theme “What Do You Fear?: Insisting on Hope this Advent Season” invites us to remember that even in the most challenging or harrowing circumstances, God is with us. As the angels tell the protagonists of the nativity story, “Do not be afraid!” This season, we hope you will find reason to be filled with hope and joy as we make our way to the cradle of Christ.
Advent is always a joyous time of year, but it is particularly special to celebrate with you at East End UMC. Our traditions and celebrations provide us with multiple opportunities to embrace the spirit of this holy season. Find devotionals and our full Advent calendar on our Advent page!
Check out our Rebirth on Russell page where you will find information about East End UMC's ongoing journey of renewal, revisioning, and relocation. We are currently restoring a historic church building in East Nashville to be our new physical home. Read ahead to learn our story, to find the most recent updates on our renovation project, and to discover how you can continue to support us by your prayers and your gifts.
New East End UMC T-shirts are available in 2 fresh new designs and a rainbow of color options. Shipped right to your door! Order now for Pride month and show your East End love year-round.
WHERE AND WHEN WE WORSHIP
Due to the March 2020 tornado, we are without a church building. We regularly meet for worship on Sundays at 10 AM at Warner Arts Magnet Elementary, which is located at 626 Russell St, Nashville, TN 37206.
