Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors

Welcome to East End United Methodist Church!

We believe that Jesus’ message of unconditional love means that every human being is a child of God and is worthy of love, respect and inclusion. We welcome and embrace people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, race, ethnicity, age, faith history, economic status, physical and mental ability, education, and housing status.

We stand against discrimination and exclusion by choosing to worship and serve with all people through love, acceptance and reconciliation.

All Church Chili Lunch

Sunday, October 16 11:30 am – 1:30 pm

We will celebrate the changing weather by eating lunch together after worship on October 16.

We will gather in the park and enjoy each other’s company and chili recipes.

The acoustic group will have their instruments, and welcome other musicians to bring theirs, for a pickin’ party. All musicians are welcome!

Bring a blanket or camping chairs to sit and enjoy the good food and music. Anyone willing to bring extra seating to help accommodate guests would be appreciated!

There is no cost, but if you are willing to contribute your favorite chili recipe, or paper supplies, please contact Kylan at kylan@eastendumc.org.

Two Sunday School Opportunities  9:00 am on Sunday Mornings
Ask: Faith Questions in a Skeptical Age
Kate and Kyle will offer an 8-week series about living life as a Christian outside of the church. This is an informal discussion group.
Half Truths: Things The Bible Doesn’t Say
Judi will lead our study of common Christian clichés. This week we will discuss “God Said It, I Believe It, That Settles It!”

More from Kate and Kyle about their class Kyle and I are leading a Sunday School class about asking faith questions in a skeptical age. Basically, we just want to lead an informal discussion about how to live like a Christian outside of church and all the many different paths that can lead to a Christian life.

We will meet in the conference room across from the kitchen in the education wing. We will meet around 9ish, emphasis on the ish. Please don’t let being ten minutes late make you not want to come at all!! This is very relaxed.

If this piques your interest please consider joining us!! There will be NO homework, NO worries if you miss some meetings, NO pressure to share every class. It is also a short 8 week course so it’s not a year-long commitment. We want this class to be about the topic, not the median age of the members so please feel free to attend or share with others regardless of age/life stage/etc!

Hope to see you all soon!  Kate and Kyle
