Lent 2026: Rendezvousing with the Redeemer

The season of Lent is upon us, among the most important seasons in the Christian calendar. During Lent, we are invited into a time of prayer and penitence as we enter into the story of Jesus’ journey to the cross. Lent is a period of 40 days (not including Sundays), and it prepares us for the coming of Easter when we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and the promise of eternal life.

Our theme this Lenten Season is “Rendezvousing with the Redeemer.” The Scriptures we will hear this Lent are centered around moments in Jesus’ ministry when he had special 1-on-1 encounters with people. In each of these rendezvous, Jesus revealed something about God and humanity’s encounter with God’s redeeming grace. These stories emerged from Jesus’ ministry as he carefully worked his way toward Jerusalem, the place of his ultimate death and resurrection.

Take some time to review our Lenten calendar for 2026 and make plans to join us throughout the season. Through special worship services, musical offerings, and other gatherings, we will help one another make the Lenten journey alongside Jesus. Together, we will work on turning our hearts and minds back to God as we pray to be renewed by rendezvousing with our Redeemer.
